We created the perfect terrace at award-winning Derby restaurant with Outdoor Furniture and Terrace Screens
Our hospitality products have created the perfect terrace for Derby’s most talked-about riverside restaurant, Darleys. The multi award-winning restaurant opened in September after a complete interior redesign, installation of a new 50-seater outdoor terrace and revamp of the original, famous waterfront dining area. As part of the major restaurant project, which sits inside a 200-year-old former mill, we supplied a range of bespoke products as part of the post lockdown renovation.
A total of 32 designer, all-weather, wipeable and stackable chairs now take pride of place at Darley’s new outdoor terrace. Our Contemporary Collection, in particular the Goleta model of chair, brings an air of sophistication to any outdoor hospitality space. Supplied in Retro Blue and Green-Grey, this seating range is robust and sturdy but easy to move and even easier to keep clean – an important factor during the Covid-19 pandemic.
To finish the look at Darleys, eight hardwearing and weatherproofed dining tables were also delivered to the newly-created terrace enabling Derby diners to have the perfect space to meet friends and family. These were sourced from some of Europe’s finest furniture designers.

This outdoor area at Darleys provides a stunning, safe environment for customers and we are delighted to do our bit to help hospitality businesses get back on their feet and encourage people to venture out, enjoying themselves in a safe environment.
The Darleys terrace has been designed to allow at least a two metre distance between tables and we worked very hard to select and design the right furniture. Anyone who knows anything about Darleys will be delighted to see what we’ve done to help create an upmarket, patio dining experience.”
To define the new outdoor seating area at Darleys, we also designed and installed Terrace Screens to create a more intimate atmosphere for guests, which provides protection from the wind and rain. These frame the stunning riverside view and allow Darleys to entertain guests outside, all year round – bringing in crucial revenue as well as providing diners with a safe, sheltered area to enjoy cocktails and canapes on the outdoor terrace! Richard said: “Extending the dining space by working on the outdoor area was key to Darleys and we knew we could give it exactly what was needed.
The business has a great reputation in the Derby area and, while we battle with the coronavirus and social distancing regulations, customers can now enjoy this outdoor space and sample the delights Darleys has to offer.” To complete the Derby project and to add the finishing touches to an already multi award-winning establishment, two beautifully-designed Parasols
Darleys is now co-owned by Rob Ellis and Lee Bebbington. Lee Bebbington, said: “We opened in September and it has been fantastic. The new terrace looks amazing and guest love it. In addition to the waterfront terrace at the back of the restaurant, we now the superb front terrace where we will be serving breakfasts, lunches and drinks.
Richard and the team at In Your Corner helped us so much to design our new-look area. We are very pleased with it. The Covid-19 lockdown enabled us to work on the internal refurbishment and design the new-look restaurant. We couldn’t wait to open in September. Revenue is already up substantially, the customer feedback is great and long may it continue.”
